Tour Announcement
Veteran rock band Anberlin is set to embark on a major U.S. tour in early 2025 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough album Never Take Friendship Personal. The 29-date tour launches on February 25 in Memphis and runs through April, hitting cities like Dallas, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Detroit, and wrapping up in Orlando. Special guests Copeland, The Dangerous Summer, Spitalfield, and Madina Lake will join on select dates.
Released in 2005, Anberlin’s second album, Never Take Friendship Personal, achieved a career-high position of #3 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart, featuring fan-favorite singles like “A Day Late” and “Paperthin Hymn.” In 2022, Anberlin celebrated their 20th anniversary with an extensive North American tour joined by ’68. The following year, they supported Yellowcard on parts of their Ocean Avenue anniversary tour, sharing the stage with This Wild Life, Mayday Parade, Story of the Year, and Emo Night Brooklyn.
Bassist Deon Rexroat expressed his excitement about the upcoming tour:
“We’re beyond thrilled to mark 20 years of Never Take Friendship Personal and to play one of our favorite albums start to finish in some of our favorite cities across America. Touring alongside our longtime friends in Copeland, who will be performing In Motion in full, along with The Dangerous Summer, Spitalfield, and Madina Lake, makes it even more special. Let’s PARTY!”

Who is Anberlin?
Anberlin is an American alternative rock band from Winter Haven, Florida, formed in 2002. Since early 2007, the lineup has included lead vocalist Stephen Christian, guitarists Joseph Milligan and Christian McAlhaney, bassist Deon Rexroat, and drummer Nathan Young.
The band originated in 1998 as SaGoh 24/7, releasing two studio albums before shifting their musical style and rebranding as Anberlin in 2002. Within a year, they signed with the indie label Tooth & Nail Records and debuted with Blueprints for the Black Market. In 2005, they released their second album, Never Take Friendship Personal, followed by Cities in 2007, which marked their first entry into the Billboard 200’s top 20, with 34,000 copies sold in its first week.
In 2007, Anberlin joined the major label Universal Republic, and in 2008 they released New Surrender, which reached No. 13 on the Billboard 200. Its lead single, “Feel Good Drag,” rose to No. 1 on the Alternative Songs chart after 29 weeks. By the time their fifth album, Dark Is the Way, Light Is a Place, launched in 2010, they had sold over one million albums. Their sixth album, Vital, came out in October 2012, with a reissue titled Devotion released in 2013 under Big3 Records.
In January 2014, Anberlin announced they would disband after recording their seventh album, Lowborn, with Tooth & Nail Records, followed by a final tour that year. After a series of reunion performances in 2018, they resumed touring in 2019. In May 2020, Stephen Christian revealed they were working on new music, and in July 2022, they released the Silverline EP.
In October 2023, Christian announced an indefinite hiatus from touring, with Matty Mullins of Memphis May Fire stepping in as his replacement.
